Baile Tusnad / Harghita County/Romania

Tusnad (Hungarian Tusnádfürdő) is a town in Harghita County, Transylvania, Romania. It has a population of 1728 inhabitants, [1] as the city with the lowest number of inhabitants in Romania. It is located in the southern part of Ciuc basin between Harghita and Bodoc in Olt docks, at an altitude of 650 m. It is an important seaside resort.

The most likely date is 1842 founding of the resort. Miraculous healing of a shepherd's son drew attention to the therapeutic effect of mineral waters, after which they founded a company limited by shares in operating the resort in 1845. When the revolution of 1849 the resort is destroyed, rebuilding begins only in 1852.
